FORM & ACTION BEFORE FINISH

A place for
the pieces.

One recognizable case. Three visible folders. A small sequence that turns a loose pile into a settled, closed package.

This is an illustration study, not a file-processing tool. Plain materials expose the proportions and movement; nothing here replaces the live hero.

01 / BEFORE

Ready, not appearing.

The three tabbed folders rest on a feed tray beside the closed case. Nothing spawns into the scene.

02 / ACTION

Open. Lift. Place.

The hinged lid opens. Each folder lifts clear of the rim, travels across and lowers into the case in order.

03 / SETTLED

Weight, then closure.

Each folder settles onto the stack. The lid closes after the last placement. The completed state holds still.

What this direction is testing

The current live hero reads as floating interface rectangles joined to a glossy box. Their supports, scale and physical relationship are unclear, and the moving dots do not show a concrete state change. “Connected workstation” is an explanation added by text, not something the form establishes.

This alternative uses a broad rounded case, an oversized continuous hinge, a hand grip, a receiving cavity and tabbed folders. The silhouette should read as a container before any caption. The lid, tray and folders have distinct jobs. Soft edges and exaggerated proportions give it a chosen shape language without texture decoration.

Review question: Can you recognize packing and closure with the labels hidden? The file/work metaphor still needs your judgment; no new aesthetic is approved by this preview.
